"I've been blessed with amazing fans since I came to New York. I sincerely couldn't have done it without you. I hope my store brings you back to 1984."

About Doc

Career

Growing up in Tampa, Florida, I was drafted to the minors in the first round of 1982. I made my major league debut on April 7, 1984 with the New York Mets at the age of 19. I was honored to be named Rookie of the Year in 1984 and then Cy Young and Pitcher of the Year in 1985. My childhood dream came true when we won the World Series Championship in 1986. I continued pitching with the Mets until 1994.

After 11 seasons with the New York Mets I joined the New York Yankees in 1996. On May 14, 1996 I threw my first no-hitter. It was a day I will never forget. Back again with the Yankees in 2000, I earned my third World Series ring. After 430 games, 2,800 2⁄3 innings, and 2,293 strikeouts, I retired in 2001 and was inducted into the Mets Hall of Fame in 2010.

Where is Doc now?

Life has thrown me some curve balls but I’ve been blessed with an amazing family, friends, and fans that have stayed by my side over the years. Now in my retirement, I’m lending my brand to companies, events, and other initiatives including my online store. I’m spending quality time with my kids living in New Jersey and appreciating the next stage of my life and career.
